Garnishing is just as necessary as the meal you prepared or the cake you’ve decorated for hours upon hours. Garnishing is the arrangement of an edible embellishment adding a visual impact that should contrast your dish. It gives pleasure to the term food pornography. The flair of garnishing entices the viewer transition to the eye candy effect.
Garnishing is a two-fold process it will enhance the appearance and flavor of your product. Visually it can make or break a dish. Seriously, have you ever seen a dish and you’re like what the hell all day? I’m not tasting that…that’s exactly what I mean. However, if the plate is garnished in an enticing way one may be strongly attempted to suck it up and try it out!
Chocolate curls (my favorite), painting the plate with chocolate or the sauce of your choice, citrus knots, sugar flowers, fruit, herbs, curled carrots and veggies, bacon crumbles, Jell-O or butter molds, and so forth are different garnishing techniques. My advice is to choose wisely and know that you are about to brighten up someone’s day.
